Day 1: Depart USA

This evening make your way to the Los Angeles for your overnight flight to Auckland.

Day 2: Cross International Date Line

During your flight, you will cross the International Date Line.

Day 3: Arrive Auckland

After you clear Customs and Immigration, collect your luggage and transfer by a private vehicle to your hotel for a three-night stay. This afternoon, make your way to the All Blacks Experience located in the SkyCity Entertainment Precinct. You don’t need to be a footy lover to experience the first-hand excitement and emotion of game day. The experience includes an interactive and immersive 45-minute guided tour and multiple hands-on interactive zones. Go behind the scenes with the players, test your knowledge of the game and put your skills to the test against the best in the world. Personalize your purchase in our fully stocked retail store carrying official merchandise.

Day 4: Auckland

The morning tour is a journey of discovery designed to explore the history and sights as well as see how Aucklanders live and play. Travel up Queen Street, through Auckland’s central business district, past the Auckland University and through the inner city park, known as the Domain. Continue on through the picturesque suburb of Ponsonby, with its historic buildings before heading over the Harbour Bridge to Auckland’s North Shore. Stroll on one of our beautiful white sand beaches where there is time for a coffee before continuing up to the summit of Mt Victoria with its stunning panoramic views of Auckland City and historic Devonport. Then travel back over the Harbour Bridge to view Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere. The remainder of your day is free to explore the city at your leisure.

Day 5: Auckland

Today is free to explore Auckland at your leisure. Talk to our Destination Experts about adding touring options to your vacation.

Day 6: Auckland- Rotorua

Travel south from Auckland over the Bombay Hills to the rich farmland of the Waikato region. Your journey takes you through undulating green hills reminding you that you are approaching The Shire. Your Bush and Beach guide will give you commentary on the way to Hobbiton with insights into the areas you are travelling through, along with some background to the movies. On arrival at Shire’s Rest you embark on your Hobbiton movie set tour. This location is the largest “green set” in the world and the only part of the set remaining in New Zealand. You see 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge and the party tree. At this stunning location you can take a photo at the gate to Bilbo’s house, “Bag End”, looking out over the whole set to the hills in the distance. The tour ends with a visit to the Green Dragon Inn for a drink. After the movie set tour concludes, clients are transferred to Rotorua.

Day 7: Rotorua

A free day to explore Rotorua at your leisure. Ask our Destination Experts about adding touring options to your vacation. This evening enjoy the Te Pō Indigenous Experience begins with our mouth-watering buffet at our world-famous Pātaka Kai Restaurant, Bar, and Cafe. With locally sourced cuisine and an authentic Māori twist in each dish, our buffet is guaranteed to be a favorite. Following this, you will be led to view an exhilarating cultural performance that takes place in our beautifully carved meeting house, Te Aronui a Rua. It will include a Pōhiri (Traditional Māori Welcome), Waiata (Song), Mōteatea (traditional chant), Poi, and Haka. Afterward, enter the geothermal valley on our waka (electric shuttle) and discover one of New Zealand’s most magnificent geothermal wonderlands – featuring dramatic geysers, bubbling mud, and beautiful native bush. Enjoy a hot chocolate, seated on a naturally heated rock terrace overlooking the powerful Pōhutu Geyser.

Day 8: Rotorua – Queenstown

Transfer to Rotorua Airport by private vehicle for your flight to Queenstown. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a four-night stay.

Day 9: Queenstown

Sit back, relax and soak up the scenic sights on this morning of guided sightseeing. Discover the thrill of the Bungy! Watch intrepid jumpers from the viewing deck, and feel the adrenaline as they plummet at a height of 43 metres! Stop in into the “Valley of the Vines” Gibbston region for a wine tasting at Gibbston Valley Winery. Spend time exploring the 1860’s gold rush history and the picturesque colonial architecture of Arrowtown with time to wander the main street and explore the Chinese Village. Finish with breath-taking panoramic views from the Coronet Saddle lookout and wind your way back to town via the Shotover River Gorge.

Day 10: Queenstown

Milford Sound is an area of extraordinary beauty. It offers a majestic fiord, dramatic and awe inspiring scenery and prolific flora and fauna. After check-in completion, your pilot will give a thorough pre-flight briefing on the route and scenic highlights likely to be encountered. These include the famous Skippers Canyon, the Paradise region (recently made popular as film locations for Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Trilogies), and the Donne glacier among many other awe-inspiring features. Your 35 minute flight concludes with an over flight of the fiord of Milford Sound, prior to landing. he second half of the adventure begins in Milford Sound, where your pilot personally escorts you to the boat docks to board the “Sprit of Milford” to enjoy your Milford Sound Nature Cruise. Numbers aboard are capped at 150 passengers and on this intimate experience, Nature Guides offer a personal commentary. The “Spirit of Milford” catamaran explores nooks and crannies along the edge of the fiord, nudging into sheer rock faces to examine flora and fauna in detail. Following your Milford Sound cruise you return flight takes in many of the pristine alpine lakes and waterfalls that Fiordland National Park is recognized for, including the Sutherland Falls which span 580m (1900ft). Flight time is another 35 minutes, with a total trip time of approximately 4 hours. After enjoying your Scenic Flight back from Milford Sound you will land back in Queenstown to complete the journey.

Day 11: Queenstown

Today, take a jet boat ride on the Shotover River during an extreme ride, and make use of transport from Queenstown. Experience adrenaline-fueled fun as the jet boat skims the water’s surface at high speed and fishtails into 360-degree spins. Hold on tight as the captain maneuvers the jet boat over rapids and through narrow canyons during one heart-pounding adventure you won’t soon forget. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 13: Depart for USA

Your New Zealand vacation concludes today when you make your way to Queenstown Airport for your return flight home via Auckland.
