Day 1: Depart USA

This evening make your way to the Los Angeles Airport for your overnight flight aboard Air New Zealand to Auckland. Enjoy a dining experience full of super fresh ingredients and flavors and an extensive range of premium New Zealand wines to complement each meal. Relax in the ergonomically designed seats that create generous personal space to ensure a comfortable journey. Take control of the on-demand entertainment and enjoy a wide range of audio and video and a collection of the very best in music.

Day 2: International Date Line

During your flight, you will cross the International Date Line.

Day 3: Auckland

On arrival in Auckland, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a 2-night stay. The remainder of your day is free to explore or relax

Day 4: Auckland (B,L)

Enjoy an amazing day in nature exploring the Waitakere Ranges on Auckland’s West Coast, as well as the food and wine region of Kumeu with Muriwai Beach on a private tour. Be amazed by Auckland’s famous West Coast with its subtropical rainforest, soaring cliffs, roaring surf and stunning black sand beaches. This private tour incorporates a visit to the subtropical rainforest west of Auckland city with its stunning sights, as well as Kumeu Wine Country with its boutique vineyards and easy access to the famous Gannet Colony at Muriwai black sand beach. Come face to face with a huge 1,000-year-old Kauri tree, one of New Zealand’s icons. Kauri are the world’s 2nd largest trees by wood volume, surpassed only by Sequoia trees in California. Explore the subtropical rainforest and amazing, volcanic black sand beaches that are so iconic along this wild coastline. As a private tour, you can be as active as you would like to be and your guide can cater to your fitness level accordingly to ensure you get the most out of your special day while in our care. You can also opt to experience a local craft brewery and beer garden for a taster tour and/or visit the popular Riverhead Historic Tavern – New Zealand’s oldest riverside pub. In season, there are also the hugely popular strawberry fields selling ice creams, as well as various roadside fruit and vegetable stalls to delight your taste buds along the way. Return to Auckland City after a very special day in nature on Auckland’s West Coast with its amazing scenery, great food and wine.

Day 5: Waiheke Island (B)

Make your way to the ferry terminal (or alternatively upgrade to a helicopter transfer) for a transfer across to Waiheke Island. On arrival, you will be met by a driver from Delamore Lodge and transferred to the property.

Day 6: Waiheke Island (B,L)

Enjoy a full-day private and personalized tour on Waiheke Island. Offering a wide range of specialist walking options including tours in all parts of Waiheke Island, coastal tracks, art walks and guided wellbeing walks. Alternatively chat to one of our Destination Specialist about a private winery tour.

Day 7: Rotorua (B,D)

After breakfast, return to Auckland by ferry and transfer to Auckland Airport for your flight to Rotorua. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lakeside accommodation for a 2-night stay.

Day 8: Rotorua (B,D)

Today, Combine the thrill of walking around the summit of Mount Tarawera with a flight that includes spectacular aerial views of our stunning crater lakes, the renowned Tarawera Falls and vibrant Waimangu and Wai-O-Tapu geothermal reserves. Descend over the Waikato River to land in “the hidden valley” of Orakei Korako. Enjoy a one-hour self-guided tour amongst bubbling hot springs, erupting geysers and a spectacular pallet of nature’s most vibrant colors. Grab a coffee or an ice cream before reboarding the helicopter. Your return flight takes in views of farmlands and the Paeroa mountain range before flying over Rotorua City and returning to our lakefront pier. This evening, experience New Zealand’s Most Awarded Cultural Attraction, TE PA TU. Feast on song, drama, tradition, and divine seasonal kai (cuisine) within the forest Pa (village) –blanketed by towering Tawa trees, blazing bonfires, and forest-formed amphitheater. Te Pa Tu shares Maori history, traditions, and cultural aspirations across 4-hours of celebration and feasting. These events change with each season of the maramataka, the Māori lunar calendar.

Day 9: Queenstown (B)

Transfer to Rotorua Airport for your flight to Queenstown. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the stunning Hulbert House for a three-night stay.

Day 10: Queenstown (B)

Take to the skies with a scenic 35-minute scenic flight to Milford Sound. View famous Skippers Canyon, the Paradise region (recently made popular as film locations for Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Trilogies), and the Donne glacier among many other awe-inspiring features. On arrival in Milford Sound you will be escorted to the boat docks where you will board the “Spirit of Milford” to enjoy your Milford Sound Nature Cruise. The catamaran explores nooks and crannies along the edge of the fiord, nudging into sheer rock faces to examine flora and fauna in detail. Following the cruise, return to Queenstown by air taking in the many sights of the pristine alpine lakes and waterfalls.

Day 11: Queenstown (B,L)

Join a private tour and learn the secrets behind the distilling process of artisanal spirits. Take in the landscape of the Wakatipu Basin whilst enjoying a scenic drive over the rugged alpine Crown Range to Cardrona. Learn the spirit-making process, from grain to glass, with a tour of the world’s southernmost whiskey-making facility, the family-owned Cardrona Distillery. Understand how to distinguish the subtle layers, colors and textures of a prized whiskey and sample their award-winning gin and vodka. Enjoy multiple panoramic photo opportunities, including the iconic Cardrona Hotel, before descending into the world class Pinot Noir wine region of Gibbston for a delectable wine tasting followed by a gorgeous platter lunch. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 12: Depart Queenstown (B)

After breakfast, you have free time to catch up on some last-minute shopping before transferring to Queenstown Airport for your return flight to the US via Auckland.
