Explore Melbourne’s charming laneways and opulent arcades on a small-group walking tour. Uncovered tucked-away gems like specialty boutiques and local fashion designers, and savor Melbourne’s café culture with a stop for coffee or tea, a chocolate tasting and an optional lunch at a local eatery.

Travel south-east from Melbourne to Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park where you will meet endangered species, kangaroos, wallabies and koalas plus an array of colorful birds and reptiles. Your journey then leads to Phillip Island, the home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and the famous Little Penguins. Upon arrival on the Island, depending on the time of year and your interests, you will visit Woolamai beach to see surfers riding the waves. During the daylight savings months, you will travel to the town of Cowes where you will have free time for dinner (own expense). In the winter months you can have something to eat at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre. Finally, a trip to Phillip Island is not complete without its black tie gala event: the Penguin Parade .Head to the Visitor Centre to shop, have a coffee and meander along the boardwalk to the viewing platform where you will see the little penguins come ashore, decked out in their tuxedos as they hurry off to find their burrows.

Collect your rental vehicle and cross the West Gate Bridge and take the Princes Highway to Geelong, the largest provincial city in Victoria. From Geelong travel to Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road, and recognized as the surfing capital of Australia. Stop at the nearby famous Bells Beach or the beautiful Erskine Falls. The scenic coastline from Lorne to Apollo Bay has been described as one of the most beautiful and breathtaking drives in the world. Overnight in Apollo Bay.

After breakfast, travel along the fabulous Great Ocean Road to Port Campbell. See the amazing rock formations of the Twelve Apostles, which are huge stone pillars sticking out of the surf, carved over time by the crashing Southern Ocean waves. Travelling on past Port Campbell you will see London Bridge – the broken arch. Continuing the ‘Shipwreck Coast’ begins, from Port Campbell and Warrnambool and on to Port Fairy for an overnight stay.

There is a choice of routes today, the shorter route will take you via Portland and Cape Nelson, along the coast directly to Mount Gambier, and then on to Robe, via Millicent. The longer route will mean a very early start. Travel via Penshurst to Dunkeld, and then from Dunkeld a scenic drive will take you through the Grampians National Park and onto Halls Gap. Highlights within the Grampians include McKenzie Falls, Reids Lookout and the Balconies. There are walks of varying length and difficulties to reach some of these points. Return to Dunkeld, and then onto Mt Gambier and Robe.

Continue on to Kingston and travel towards Adelaide, travelling along the Coorong National Park skirting Lake Albert and Lake Alexandria. Travel to the towns of Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge. Travel through Mannum, Mt Pleasant and Angaston. Mannum is one of the oldest towns located on the Murray River and has an historic and lively past. The Barossa Valley is one of Australia’s most famous wine producing areas. It is a warm and intimate place of charming old towns, the vineyards spreading across undulating hills in well-tended, precise rows.

There is plenty of time to explore the Barossa Valley. There are many famous wineries to visit including, Yalumba, Orlando and Penfolds, as well as many boutique wineries to discover. Some wineries are still run by members of the same families that established them last century. You can also experience an array of gourmet food products and local delicacies. This afternoon travel south through Gawler to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia and known in Australia as the City of Churches.

Return your rental vehicle and enjoy a relaxing day exploring Adelaide at your leisure.

On Tuesday, Thursday or Friday meet your guide for a tour of the renowned Central Market. Start your day with the best market espresso, brewed tea or hot chocolate. Then watch the market open up whilst enjoying breakfast. Since 1869, the Central Market has been the jewel in the crown of South Australian Tourism experiences, a haven of premium food and wine products, and second home to chefs and food lovers. Following breakfast, enjoy a sensory and interactive gourmet walking tour with a local food expert. Visit stallholders, taste delicious samples that represent the multicultural community of South Australia and the clean and green produce harvested from local farms and oceans, and experience the exciting buzz of the market.

Discover Australia’s own Galapagos, Kangaroo Island. Transfer by coach and ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Meet your local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination. Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park where you will be taken on a guided beach walk with an experienced guide and be amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close and see these wild creatures frolic and laze about – a truly amazing and unforgettable experience. A delicious two course lunch will follow your Seal Bay Conservation Park visit. From here, travel to the western most part of the Island, Flinders Chase National Park. As you travel through the park, keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles, and koalas. See the rugged coastline from walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities, and the Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed Fur Seals. Your last visit of the day is to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed some kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas while listening to the Keeper talk about the cuddly mammals. There is a possibility that you will see more kangaroos and wallabies on your return to Penneshaw for your ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.

Finally travel to Sydney for a four-night stay!  Enjoy a great day out in Sydney with this tour combining an hour long guided exploration of the Opera House, followed by a lunch or dinner and drink at House Canteen, with one of the most famous views in Australia. Learn all about the Opera House from your guide and watch a digital experience about the building, too. Choose the time you’d like to go, keeping in mind the restaurant serves meals from 11:30am-6pm.

Take in some of the best view of Sydney from your window seat on a 90-minute lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour. Pass Sydney’s famous landmarks including the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge as your boat glides along the water. Day 1: Depart USA

Make your way to Los Angeles Airport for your overnight flight to Melbourne. If you require a connecting flight from another US gateway, please let us know and we can price your airfare accordingly.

Day 2: International Date Line

During your flight, you will cross the International Date Line.

Day 3: Arrive Melbourne

After you clear Immigration & Customs collect your luggage and make your way to the Arrivals Hall and locate your driver who will transfer you to your hotel for a 3-night stay.

Day 4: Melbourne

This morning, make your way to the meeting point for a private, three-hour guided walking tour of Melbourne’s Lanes & Arcades. Discover and learn about the enchantment of Melbourne as your guide unveils local designers and specialty retailers that often are only found in the city. We reveal some of the quirkiest cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture, with historical tales of Melbourne along the way. There is an option to add a cafe lunch to this tour, please ask for details at time of booking. The remainder of your day is free to discover Melbourne at your leisure. Day 5: Phillip Island

Travel on a small-group tour from Melbourne to Phillip Island to see the penguin parade and other wildlife highlights of Victoria. Your full-day tour stops at Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park to meet Australian natives such as koalas and wallabies. Explore the dramatic Cape Woolamai surf beach and the Nobbies boardwalk where you can enjoy the views of the rugged South Coast.

Day 6: Melbourne – Apollo Bay

Collect your rental vehicle and travel west towards Geelong. From Geelong travel to Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road, and recognized as the surfing capital of Australia.
