Day 1: Depart USA
Make your way to Los Angeles Airport for your overnight flight to Melbourne. If you require a connecting flight from another US gateway, please let us know and we can price your airfare accordingly.
Day 2: International Date Line
During your flight, you will cross the International Date Line.
Day 3: Arrive Melbourne – Perth
On arrival in Melbourne, clear Customs and Immigration before transferring to your flight to Perth. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The remainder of your day is free to relax or explore at your leisure.
Day 4: Perth
This morning, join a 3-hour walking tour of the amazing city offering an overview covering history to contemporary culture, including many local insights and hidden gems you would never find on your own. Highlights are interesting, informative and fun. Explore hidden laneways, heritage buildings, gorgeous gardens, riverside precincts and new developments. Hear quirky stories and fun facts along the way. Gain may insider tips and suggestions of fun things to see, do, eat or drink while in Perth. Visitors are recommended to book at the start of their trip, great for locals to join anytime. The remainder of your day is free to explore the city at your leisure.
Day 5: Perth
You will be transferred by coach to Hillarys Boat Harbour to board the vessel for the short journey to Rottnest Island, the Emerald Isle of a Sea of Sapphire. On arrival, join a comprehensive guided tour of the island allowing you to explore the stunning beauty of this A-Class natural reserve in air-conditioned comfort, taking in the amazing fauna and flora of the island, stunning beaches, woodlands and incredible salt lakes; commencing with a unique historic train ride. This 4-hour all-inclusive island tour by historic train and bus takes in all of Rottnest’s must-see locations featuring the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Oliver Hill Gun Fortification and Tunnels and the majestic look-out point at the rugged Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh. All major habitats are covered on this amazing tour, including Rottnest’s cultural and historical heritage ranging from maritime and military history right up to future developments. A light lunch is included.
Day 6: Perth – Learmonth – Sal Salis
Transfer by private vehicle to Perth Airport for your flight to Learmonth. On arrival, transfer to Sal Salis for a three-night stay. Make yourself at home in your luxury safari style tent. Safari guides are on hand to provide an immersive wilderness experience, and the ritual of sundowners is a time of laughter, sharing of exceptional local knowledge and wonder at the inimitability of Ningaloo.
Day 7-8: Sal Salis
You have two full days to explore Western Australia’s coral coast and one of Australia’s best-kept natural secrets. See red kangaroos, wallaroos, rock wallabies and birdlife such as fairy wrens, kestrels, zebra finches. Explore the reef with minimal interference to the ecosystem and kayak to spots further offshore where an anchor is dropped in the sand to enjoy a snorkel of Blue Lagoon or Osprey Bay. Take an optional excursion and swim with the whale sharks on Ningaloo Reef.
Day 9: Sal Salis – Perth
Transfer from Sal Salis to Learmonth Airport for your return flight to Perth. On arrival, collect your rental vehicle and make your way to your Perth hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Perth – Margaret River
This morning, make your way to Cape Lodge in the Margaret River region. Sited on a 40 acre property with manicured gardens, vineyard and native bushland, just within earshot of the Indian Ocean, appeals to guests seeking a sophisticated retreat with all the trappings of a private country house hotel. The Margaret River region boasts an exceptional concentration and diversity of species as well as the high degree of endemism amongst the tall karri forests, ancient limestone caves and scenic hiking trails.
Day 11: Margaret River
Join an exclusive Margaret River Wine Tour where you will sample not only the region’s best cuisine but talk to the wine maker or qualified wine experts of the winery’s you visit. Visit three wineries and enjoy a delicious lunch at Vasse Felix Restaurant. One of Australia’s most awarded destination and has been noted as a benchmark of its kind by leading critics. Day 12: Margaret River
Today is free to explore the region at your leisure or enjoy the facilities at Cape Lodge.
Day 13: Margaret River – Perth – USA
Depart Cape Lodge and make your way back to Perth, where you will return the rental vehicle before boarding your return flights to the US. Ask our team about an optional stopover in Sydney.
