Day 1                    Depart USA     

This evening make your way to San Francisco Airport for your overnight flight to Brisbane. Other gateway cities are available, please call for details and pricing.

Day 2                    International Date Line

During your flight, you will cross the International Date Line.

Day 3                    Brisbane

On arrival at Brisbane Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 2-night stay. The remainder of your day is free to relax or explore the city at your leisure.

This afternoon explore Brisbane’s vibrant essence on foot with our expertly crafted, private walking tours. Immerse yourself in its beauty and culture as we uncover iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and cityscapes. From the bustling city center to tranquil gardens, join us to discover Queen Street Mall, City Hall, and more, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Day 4                    Brisbane (L)

Today, experience a full-day Island Eco Sarai to Moreton Island. Board the luxurious 3-level Catamaran at Lytton (The Port of Brisbane), offering stunning views of the Boondall Wetlands Nature Reserve and Nudgee Beach. Cruise past Moreton Bay Islands and the Marine Park, spotting dolphins, whales, dugongs, and turtles along the way. Explore Moreton Island’s famous west coast shipwrecks at Tangalooma, then hop on a 4WD vehicle to traverse the island’s sandy terrain, including a beach drive along the eastern surf beach. Delight in a coastal forest walk to the Blue Lagoon, where you can relax, swim, and snorkel in pristine waters before enjoying a picnic lunch overlooking the golden beach. Discover ancient Aboriginal sites, visit Cape Moreton Lighthouse for breathtaking views, and explore Honeymoon Bay Beach and the Champagne Pools. Conclude your adventure with a beach walk at Tangalooma Shipwrecks, capturing the afternoon sunset before returning to Brisbane by sea ferry.

Day 5                    Beerwah

Transfer from your hotel to Beerwah, home of the Crocodile Hunter, for an overnight stay at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge. Your overnight stay includes unlimited entry to Australia Zoo and a sneak peek at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

Day 6                    Port Douglas (B)

Enjoy the morning at Australia Zoo, before transferring by private vehicle to Brisbane Airport for your flight to Cairns. On arrival, transfer to Port Douglas for a three-night stay. This afternoon is free to relax and explore at Thala Nature Reserve.

 Day 7                    Port Douglas

This morning, engage with local Aboriginal guides to delve into the rich cultural heritage and enduring connection of the Kuku Yalanji people to their land. Explore the rainforest and coastal habitats, discovering traditional foods, medicines, and bush tucker, while trying your hand at Aboriginal hunting practices like spear throwing and crab catching. Conclude your experience with a refreshing dip in a pristine freshwater stream.

This afternoon is at leisure.

Day 8                    Port Douglas (L)

Enjoy a full day Mackay Cay Outer Barrier Reef cruise aboard Sailaway VII. On arrival at the Sailaway office you will be greeted with local tea, coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit before a safety briefing. Sail towards Mackay Cay with a reef interpretation talk en route. Upon arrival, snorkel safety briefing and equipment distribution precede exploration of coral gardens with guided tours by marine biologists. Indulge in a tropical buffet lunch on board before continuing to a second reef site for more activities including glass bottom boat tours, free time snorkeling, and coral cay exploration. Afternoon tea is served before sailing back to Port Douglas.

Day 9                    Sydney (D)

This morning, transfer to Cairns Airport for your flight to Sydney. On arrival, transfer to the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga for an overnight stay. Arrival time suggested by 2PM. At check in, the front desk team will be able to select timings for your afternoon Sanctuary Tour and Dinner at Me-Gal (if it has not been pre-selected via a booking link sent to you pre to arrival) as well as answering any questions you have about your stay.

‘The Sanctuary’ is a thoughtfully designed habitat, created especially for guests of the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga. Nestled amongst the accommodation lodges, views of the Sanctuary and the unique Australian animals that live within it can be enjoyed from the rooms. Available between 3pm and 5pm daily, the guides will lead you on a journey where you can get close to some adorable Australian animals including bettongs, echidnas, pademelons and wallabies, hear fascinating talks and deepen your connection with Cammeraigal country.

Enjoy dinner at Me-Gal before retiring to your retreat for the night.

Day 10                 Sydney (B)

After a night spent listening to the bellow of koalas outside your window and to the sounds of our local lyrebird, wake up with the animals and enjoy a buffet breakfast at Me-Gal before a day of exploring the zoo.

 

Return back to the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga for check out. If you’re not yet done exploring, you’re welcome to store your bags at reception and spend some more time in the zoo.

Transfer to your central Sydney hotel mid-afternoon for a 2-night stay.

Day 11                 Sydney (L)

Enjoy a leisurely morning before making your way to the departure point. Experience one of the world’s most iconic destinations in style. Cruise around the beautiful Sydney Harbour and enjoy a premium dining experience. Offering a delicious 2 course menu featuring regionally sourced food and wine.

Once the cruise concludes, make your way across to the Sydney Opera House to start a one-hour guided tour.  Step beneath the sails and discover what makes the Opera House so inspiring. Discover insider secrets and stories of the Opera House artists and performances, and step inside the iconic theatres and foyers that bring to life over 1800 performances each year. Explore the building with your knowledgeable guide, learn about how Jorn Utzon’s vision came into existence against impossible odds, and capture photographs from rare vantage points, off limits to the public. Following your tour, enjoy a main meal and a beverage at either the Opera Bar or House Canteen.

Day 12                 Depart Sydney

This morning, transfer to Sydney Airport for your return flight to the US.
